iNTELLECT and Procyse 'The Art of Grace'

iNTELLECT and Procyse Announce the Release of Their Highly-Anticipated Revision Project

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John bore witness about him, and cried out, ‘This was he of whom I said, He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’) For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” [John 1:14-17]

The amazing thing about grace is that, despite our best efforts to write the ending, our story is unfinished.

Grace gives us an opportunity. It allows space for our humanity to get in the way and still rise above the odds. It is not for our own sake but for the sake of Christ who earned the grace we receive. This gift is not a one-time offer. Instead, grace continues.

For Christian rap artists iNTELLECT and Procyse (Polished Arrow Music), The Art of Grace is the opportunity to tell the best story possible.

The first iteration of the EP was released in February of 2021.

This was before the creation of Polished Arrow Music and during the early stages of iNTELLECT and Procyse’s gelling as a duo. Following the original release, the collaboration was met with plenty of positive responses and represented the beginning of the journey the two artists would travel together. However, the story living inside these songs was far from finished.

“‘For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus’ [Ephesians 2:10] describes the work that God is doing in our lives. His grace is a work of art. This album that Procyse and I put together was meant to put His beautiful work on display.” – iNTELLECT

The two began investing more time into the project despite the fact that it had already been released, something unheard of in today’s music industry.

Those efforts resulted in a new and unique sonic experience. The classic hip-hop vibe remains intact, but the spirit of the records has been given new life. Along with the revised versions of “I’m So…”, “Rise Up”, “Amazing Grace”, and “For the Culture”, new songs were added that round out the project’s purpose.

Featuring artists TC, JusJames, Yasad One, DJ Dsern, and DJ Navin Johnson, the updated version of The Art of Grace is set to release on digital music platforms on June 2, 2023. Along with production by the original EP’s producer Newselph, the revised installment includes additional production from F-Plus and Brokenfinga.

Polished Arrow Music has quickly established itself as a standout indie imprint within the Christian rap industry. The label has rightly earned a reputation as a source of high-quality boom-bap hip-hop, creating music with meaningful content and top-tier sound quality.

Procyse and J. Rhodan 'All Things'

Procyse and J. Rhodan drop new collaborative project, All Things

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” [Romans 8:28]

It can be difficult to clearly see the higher purpose in less-than-ideal times. It can be a challenge to look past the opposition directly in front of us in order to remain focused on the joy that beckons us. Even in these moments, it is well. Not for our sake, but for the sake of the one who made it all possible. And it is He who deserves our adoration.

Procyse and J. Rhodan deliver an album that is a reminder that everything works together for God’s glory, the good and the bad of life.

All Things hits digital streaming platforms on April 14, 2023.

“J. Rhodan and I teamed together to create a piece of art that we felt shared both of our hearts in the tragedies and the triumphs of life,” explains Procyse. “In the end, everything in our lives can be used to point back to God. This project is a reflection of that.”

Featuring production by J. Rhodan and lyrics from Procyse, the album includes notable contributions from the indie Christian rap community as well. Featured artists on the project are Zae Ortiz, iNTELLECT, Jonathan Fitzsimmons, and TC.

All Things included the acclaimed single “Praise” released earlier this year.

About Procyse

Denver artist Procyse has always been inspired by the need to convey truth via music. He boldly combines his heart for the Gospel with his music to spread hope among the hopeless through a gritty, boom-bap sound.

Procyse and J. Rhodan, "Praise"

Procyse and J. Rhodan take their life experiences, the good and the bad, and turn them into Praise

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” [Philippians 1:9-11]

The Lord is our strength. He is a shield and ever-present help for those who trust in Him. What should our reaction be to His faithfulness? The song of our hearts in the midst of triumph is thanks and Praise.

Releasing March 17, 2023, Christian hip-hop artists Procyse (CO) and J. Rhodan (PA) deliver their newest collaboration, Praise

Praise is produced by J. Rhodan and features Jonathan Fitzsimmons & TC. The motivation behind the record is quite simple. Procyse explains, “We want to praise God in all we do. People fail to realize you can praise him in different ways, including hip-hop music. We want to show people that, with our song, we will thank Him.”

Praise is a fusion of melody and boom-bap packed with vocal sampling. Anyone who loves golden-era hip-hop music and worship will love the record. It is a perfect example of what reverence looks like in today’s culture.

iNTELLECT & Procyse, "For The Culture"

iNTELLECT & Procyse Prove That You Can’t Be Self-Serving and Still Do It For The Culture

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” [Joshua 24:15]

Hip-hop has taught us many things over the years. Some of those lessons have rang true while others are comprised of fallacy. Ego and selfishness are simply a means to the coveted clout. It has shown us how to stay down for our day ones. Being real is vital and the fakes will always be found out. It’s okay to knock others down if your motivation is putting on For The Culture

With their latest single, Christian rap artists iNTELECT and Procyse are fixing the flaws in the narrative.

For The Culture releases across digital streaming platforms on March 3, 2023, and features CHH artist TC. The Brokenfinga production reflects the genre rooted in the culture of the streets, while the lyrics speak life from the only true source. Foregoing a hook, the record is far from lacking when it comes to standout bars. It is a culmination of hip-hop’s impact and the life-changing power of the Gospel.

We’re speaking about where we come from,” explains iNTELLECT. “Not only where we’ve been, but where God is taking us.”

iNTELLECT and Procyse, "I'm So..." featuring TC

iNTELLECT and Procyse Look Through The Eyes of a Broken World With Their New Single I’m So…

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom – Proverbs 11:2”. Man may be God’s greatest creation, but at the same time the most foolish. It seems that society is determined to prove that we are smarter than God. We’ve gone so far as to pervert the things that are beautiful, to drape that which is lovely in a covering of shame. “…Your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Christian rap artists iNTELLECT (Ohio) and Procyse (Colorado) are no strangers when it comes to collaborating on records. The duo have teamed up on several releases including 2021’s joint EP ‘The Art of Grace’. I’m So… is the first offering off of the reworked version of the project that features Florida’s TC.

“Procyse and I really wanted to revisit ‘The Art of Grace’ EP and revamp it,” explained iNTELLECT. “We wanted to give it a totally fresh sound that reflects the direction that  we are heading in as we continue to collaborate. We plan to re-release the EP soon.”

Available on digital music retailers beginning November 4, 2022, the new version of I’m So… showcases high-level lyricsim and expertly crafted cadences. The boom bap drum pattern is accentuated by subtle strings and complimentary samples. It is a perfect bridge between golden era hip hop and modern era approach. I’m So… is a record that will connect with a widerange of hip hop audiophiles.

In a world of lies and deception, there is only one truth that remains. The same God of the Bible still holds to his promises and can make his truth known in any situation.

Check out this great song also available from BHAM.

With his third installment in the CHH space, Hugh Holla aims to show empathy and encouragement to his culture.

Understanding the challenges in the African-American journey, Hugh’s wish is that his people will sing out Hosanna and draw closer to the Lord, sooner than later. Hugh’s prayer is that this piece of work will influence some to seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness. To push his people through past, present, and future troubles!

Features: Saint Jones, TC, Gitemjay, BJ & Tosha Roberts

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you” John 15v18-19.

If you find yourself asking “why can’t I fit in how everyone else does”, just remember that you are a chosen people a peculiar people set apart. You weren’t made to fit in this world and that’s okay. Keep your head high Little Saint!

With a sound that is straight out of Shaolin but a message that edifies, iNTELLECT has crafted one of his finest records to date.

The Ohio emcee has cemented his place within Christian Rap.

Bars…check; delivery…check; consistency…check. There is little room for doubting the quality, from top to bottom, when it comes to the art that iNTELLECT shares with the world.

For the past year, not only has iNTELLECT continued to level up his game when it comes to rhyming, but he has also developed into a skilled engineer in the process. I Got Somethin’ may well be the ultimate example of this development. The record is already acclaimed, being chosen as the highest graded song of the night on FiveTwenty Collective’s “The FiveTwenty Feedback Show”. This speaks volumes, especially when you consider the collection of songs that it was a part of.

Adding to the quality record are fellow faith-based hip hop artists Mitch Darrell and TC along with DJ Navin Johnson. Both TC and Mitch Darrell are familiar collaborators with iNTELLECT and both deliver on the high expectations their past work has created. Broken Finga does an amazing job setting the tone with a quality beat, showcasing high-level production.

“I found this song very entertaining with good theology and gospel references…I’ve got no complaints here,” – xeroforhire from The FiveTwentyFeedback Show.
