2022 has been building up to this exact moment for Ohio emcee iNTELLECT.

Last year the Christian rap artist released his concept album ‘Ephesians’ which was created to support a sermon series at his local church. While it was well-received in the broader hip-hop space, the project was still created with others in mind. Since the beginning of this calendar year, iNTELLECT has traveled a more personal road.

With his new album Living Weapons, June 17th, he realizes something that he has thought about for a long time:

Living Weapons is a project, as an artist, that I’ve always wanted to do,” explained iNTELLECT. “It’s a boom bap experience that invokes nostalgia, but also comes with a sound and message that are relevant to this generation.”

The album takes traditional boom-bap and blends it seamlessly into today’s sound.

Project production includes Newselph (“New Kung Fu”), F-Plus (“Honor the Teacher”, “Prison Break”, “Manifest Remix”), and Brokenfinga (“I Got Somethin’”, “The Intersection Remix”, “It Ain’t Over Remix”). iNTELLECT continues to show why he is seen as one of Christian Rap’s most consistent lyricists today. Not only does he spit hard-hitting bars, but he features an amazing lineup of independent faith-based artists as well. Features include Mitch Darrell, TC, Procyse, coreywordsmith, Minister Squad, D. R33D, DJ Navin Johnson.

Living Weapons releases across digital music platforms on June 17, 2022. It includes the acclaimed singles “I Got Somethin’” and “Manifest (Remix)”.

There is no doubt that Newselph may currently be the most active hip hop producer in Canada. His latest collab—among a recent string of releases—is with emcee James Gardin. It’s a remix of Gardin’s hit, Promise Land.

Originally released in 2017, the track was featured again on Gardin’s ’21 compilation, ‘The Groove Collection’. This remake is a more jazzhop, chill version. A perfect companion to the vocal performance that rivals Arrested Development’s Speech (think: “Tennessee”).

On January 26, 2021, Nomis’ father died. It was the first in a series of dominos leading to the worst year of his life.

Loss At Sea is Nomis processing the year his family has had in real-time. “For those of you who have suffered significant loss,” states Nomis “I hope this resonates with you and you feel understood.”

Production: Tactik, Newselph, Chrys Jones

iNTELLECT reconnects with Mr. Uni Universal on the new single Manifest.

For Christian hip hop artist iNTELLECT, 2021 has seen no shortage of new music.

Following an EP (The Art of Grace) along with two successful singles (The Intersection, New Kung Fu), the Ohio emcee continues putting in work with his latest record Manifest.

With vinyl scratches over a funky electric guitar, iNTELLECT shines a light on the things in life that we try to keep hidden. iNTELLECT’s refined boom-bap approach blends beautifully with Mr. Uni Universal’s delivery. The two spit on top of head-nodding production courtesy of Newselph. DJ Navin Johnson chips in with perfectly placed cuts. The sound is clearly meant to remind listeners that classics never go out of style.

“The track has a vintage feel, but still sounds fresh and new” explains iNTELLECT. “Manifest is an energetic track where [we] lay down deep, thought-provoking lyrics.”

Manifest hits digital retailers on July 23, 2021.

Sareem Poems (raps) and Newselph (beats) are back with a follow up to their acclaimed 88 to Now album. The Art of Living captures them at their best and features that classic Sareem Poems content.

After a run of singles, Sareem Poems and Newselph have dropped the 11-song project ’88 To Now’

Featuring the previously released “Kick’n It”, “No Fly Zone”, “In N Out”, and “This Life” – ’88 To Now’ is a project that has desperately been needed.

With features from Ozay Moore, James Gardin, Macklyn, Sivion, Composetheway, and Chris Orrick, there is a connection to be made for every listener. It is a trip back to the golden era of hip hop but made for today’s culture.

Poems is a solidified vet in the CHH world and ’88 To Now’ displays the skill of a master craftsman who understands the subtle details of his product.

“So prepare to look back, and then go forward. 1988 was a dope year, but the ‘now’ is even better.”
