The first official mixtape by Mitch Darrell, Rap Should Be Fun, Vol. 1, drops April 16, 2021!
The project features four producers and 13 total artists. Each track was written with the goal of having fun and teaching something.
Darrell says that the mixtape was “birthed from a period of time where [I] began feeling as though making music wasn’t fun anymore.” His response is a simple, concentrated effort. Create a project with fun as the priority. Insecurities and the business side of music can cause artists to forget why they started making music in the first place. From time to time, they need to remind themselves.
The mixtape is a compilation of different styles coming together to create a piece of art that glorifies God.
