Sean Anderson, originally from South Africa, is based in Vancouver, BC. As a troubled teen, Sean started down a very dark path, coming in and out of rehab for a number of years and getting involved in criminal activity. Years later, after many different attempts at cleaning up, Sean came to realize that it is only through the power of Christ that he could find his way. In 2007 Sean was saved and later baptized in Port Coquitlam, BC.
Sean is Rapture Raps and a co-founder of C.R.O.W.N. Movement, an independent label dedicated to spreading the gospel through Rap. Rapture’s personal mission is to reach those who have, or are currently walking down the path he was on, and help them discover Christ. From a young age, music has been a major influence in his life, and having practiced his craft since the age of 14, he’s constantly grinding and developing as an artist. Rapture has built up his studio over the past few years and learned how to mix and master, evolving his sound to what you hear today.
In August 2020, we lost Rapture Raps. He will forever be remembered by those who knew him by his generosity, his love for people, and how genuine of a person that he was. He will be greatly missed. He was an incredible emcee, but an even better man.
A Message from his wife:
With unbelievable heartbreak I am so sorry to share that we lost Sean on Thursday evening. I never imagined I would have to write this and I just can’t grasp that he’s gone.
My husband was an incredibly authentic, kind, talented and humble man. His compassion and love for others had no limits and I will never know how many countless people were impacted by his generosity, his wisdom, the lyrics and music we will thankfully have forever, and the 11 years of sobriety he fought so hard for every single day. Sean was a champion and a man of his word.
Hunny, I am so honored, so proud and blessed to have been at your side for these 12 years. I learned so much from you, even through our struggles. You will always be my person and I feel robbed of the time we could have had, but I know you finally have the peace you couldn’t find here. I love you so much more than you could have possibly understood while you were with us. Banks now sleeps in his carrier where I put your hoodie for him and Bru has been at my side. Never worry. Be at peace, Smokey.
