Cory Curry is from Freeport, Illinois, a small city two hours west of Chicago. At the age of 9, he and his mother moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he spent many of his impressionable teenage years.

Growing up in the rough streets of Milwaukee in a single parent home, Cory looked for guidance. He turned to music as an outlet. It was at that point in life that he formed a love and appreciation for music. He listened to any music he could get his hands on but was especially influenced by artists like T.I, Biggie, Tupac and UGK.

Once Cory decided he wanted to live his life for the glory of God, he became influenced by artists like Dre Murray, Lecrae, K-Drama and others. After listening to their music, he developed his own unique style. He points out that everything he listens to directs his musical development in some way.

Cory began going by the stage name, NewLifeMuzik but recently decided to go by his real name Cory Curry because he wants to make sure that he can share his authentic self with his following. He has been focusing on showcasing his talents at various places across the country. Cory has opened for several artists including, Dre Murray, Alex Faith, and Corey Paul.

Cory recently released two songs, “Hold On” and “Shine” which are the two leading singles from his upcoming EP. He hopes that his following will be encouraged by his music and story. He wants to convey that despite the circumstances you face, the possibilities for your life are endless.
